Dott. Roberto Barone

Dott. Clauser Carlo

ABSTRACT

Roberto Barone and Carlo Clauser live in in Florence where they exclusively deal with Oral and Implant Surgery. They have been organizing training courses for more than 25 years.

  • In the past, complex oral surgery was treated in hospitals.
  • In recent decades, the development of periodontal and implant surgery offered us the opportunity to create a new method to deal with complex oral surgery in dental practice.
  • The new method allows the integration of oral surgery in the dental treatment plan.
  • This new approach is based primarily on: new tools, effective local anaesthesia, secure incision lines in respect of periodontium, limited bone resection.

Extractions of deep eighths and removal of cysts are now performed under local anaesthesia, in a short time and with minimal risk and discomfort for the patient.
The same principles form the basis of new training courses of Paediatric Oral Surgery.

PRESENTAZIONE

“I have collaborated with Martina Stefanini and Claudio Mazzotti for over 10 years, even before they graduated in Periodontology. Both have a Masters Degree in Periodontology from the University of Siena and are active members of the Italian Periodontology Society. Their unique competence in didactic and research activities is accompanied by exceptional surgical talent. Despite their relatively young age, long years of collaboration with me has enabled them to structure a Periodontology course that can boast the title of “Fundamentals” rare in the panorama of national courses. This label of “Fundamentals”, used for far too long almost derogatorily, means that the course imparts to the clinician and the dentist the ability to diagnose the various forms of periodontal disease as well as to perform all of those surgical periodontal treatments which represent the vast majority of the clinical cases of a general dental practice dedicated to most or all branches of dentistry. I am not referring only to the extension of clinical sphere, but also to mucogingival and regenerative cosmetic surgery, which is erroneously considered to exclude the competence of the “periodontist”. I therefore highly recommend to you a “real” course in Periodontology Fundamentals, which personally I would not be able to accomplish, which can give the dentist an opportunity to add periodontal therapy to his existing skills and, if he so wishes, an introduction to learning more about the subject on the way to aspiring, in the future, to the title of specialist in Periodontology.
